Crime Stoppers Structure and Funding<\/h3>\n

Crime Stoppers <\/strong>is a not-for-profit organization. We are not a police organization. Community safety is essential to us. We operate throughout Quebec and have partnership agreements with all police forces and many federal & provincial law enforcement organizations.<\/p>\n

The organization is administered by a board of directors comprised of volunteers. Crime Stoppers<\/strong> is funded through private donations as well as profits generated through the organization of social events (golf tournaments, dinners, fundraisers). The funding necessary for our operations and distribution of rewards stems from these activities.<\/p>\n

We offer anyone who wishes to report a crime, or submit information on any type of criminal activity, the opportunity to do so anonymously.<\/p>\n

Your name, address, or telephone number are not of interest to us.<\/p>\n

What we want is information which, once disseminated to the police, will help solve crimes, end criminal activity, and improve the safety of you and your loved ones.<\/p>\n

There are two ways that you can anonymously submit information.<\/p>\n

Telephone calls<\/h3>\n

We can be reached at 1 800-711-1800. This line belongs to Crime Stoppers<\/strong>, and calls cannot be traced and are not recorded. We will assign you a caller number which will allow us, if you request, to collect a reward of up to $2,000.<\/p>\n

Once a report written by one of our employees is completed, the information is submitted to the police force and\/or relevant law enforcement partner organizations. Before submitting the report, any information that may identify the caller is destroyed. By guaranteeing anonymity, we create a positive atmosphere, free from constraints and fear of reprisals.<\/p>\n

On the Online reporting<\/a> tab, you are invited to complete a question form. It may seem long, but it is comprehensive and permits the inclusion of more details to aid police. Upon submission of the form, you will be assigned a reference number. This number will allow you to provide additional information and will allow us, if requested, to grant you a reward of up to $ 2,000.<\/p>\n

As on the phone, a report will be written by one of our employees and sent to the police department responsible for conducting the investigation. All elements that could identify the submitting party are removed and destroyed. It’s anonymous, we guarantee it.<\/p>\n

Does it work?<\/h3>\n

Click on the \u201cStatistics<\/a>\u201d tab to view measures of our success. It works, but we would like it to work better. To accomplish this, we need your help. By helping us, you help the police, but above all you help yourself.<\/p>\n

Since our inception, we have received several thousand calls, resulting in hundreds of arrests, recovery of substantial amounts of money, and seizure of millions of dollars worth of drugs. We have helped solve all kinds of crimes, including murder, rape, violence, drug trafficking, etc.<\/p>\n
