How can I make a donation to Crime Stoppers<\/strong> ?<\/h3>\n

First, contact us at administration@echecaucrime.com<\/a>. Donations must be approved by the Board of Directors prior to being sent to Crime Stoppers<\/strong>.\u00a0 For this reason, a member of the program will contact you beforehand.<\/p>\n

How can I become a Crime Stoppers<\/strong> member or partner?<\/h3>\n

Contact us by clicking \u201cContact us<\/a>\u201d in the menu tab, or by e-mailing administration@echecaucrime.com<\/a>. Most importantly, prospective members must pass a background check performed by S\u00fbret\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec. Finally, the board of directors will approve the partnership proposal.<\/p>\n

How can we start a new local committee?<\/h3>\n

There first must be citizen interest and support from the local police in your city or area. You must recruit a minimum number of members, including a president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, as well as a few administrators. The provincial committee will assist you with the essential details to start up your local committee.<\/p>\n

Who can become a committee member?<\/h3>\n

All citizens 18 years of age or older who believe in the cause and pass the background check. Note that Crime Stoppers<\/strong> is a citizen organization so police officers may not become a member of Crime Stoppers<\/strong>. However, a police officer may sit on a committee in an advisory role.<\/p>\n

How can I claim a reward?<\/h3>\n

When you make your initial call, you will be assigned a caller number. It is very important to keep this number.\u00a0 If charges are brought upon the suspect, the caller must contact Crime Stoppers<\/strong> and reference the caller number that was initially assigned.\u00a0 The information will be forwarded to the Board of Directors for approval.<\/p>\n

When can I obtain a reward?<\/h3>\n

When the information received has contributed to laying of charges against a suspect.<\/p>\n

How to follow up after submitting information?<\/h3>\n

Contact Crime Stoppers<\/strong> using the same process as when you initially submitted information, either by telephone at 1-800-711-1800 or through the option to provide information online<\/a>, referencing the caller number that was initially assigned.<\/p>\n

Who receives the information?<\/h3>\n

The call centre representative, the Crime Stoppers<\/strong> Quebec analyst, and the police investigator in the jurisdiction where the crime was or may have been committed.<\/p>\n

Can my telephone call be traced?<\/h3>\n

Absolutely not. Calls cannot be traced. Anonymity is the basis of the program and every necessary measure is taken to not disclose the source of the information.<\/p>\n
